How true… how true. I wasn’t a big fan of McGonigal’s first talk. But this one is cool. The whole idea of gaming is… although it feels like a lot of people misunderstand gaming.
If I had to draft down my ideas on a makeshift blog post, gaming is about creating a safe environment to invest some energy to exercise some skill to get from point A to point B. And we are built in such a way that everything we do is, in effect, a game. We just use the term game for things that do not bring immediate value.
Game is a process that has a certain expected structure and is associated with some positive emotions… Definitely agree that we need to play more games.
